Description

La bella Italia. The country of gastronomy, sun, the vinyards, culture and nature.Undoubtedly, most visitors to the North of Italy will know the Aosta valley and South-Tirol but yet fail to discover many unique, untouched nature in the same region, such as the Valsesia valley: the greenest valley of Italy! An unspoiled region with a broad variety of offerings: sports, gastronomy and authentic culture.

The name Valsesia originates from the river, Sesia, in the valley. This vast area is located in the province Vercelli in the Piemonte region. The valley in this mountaneous landscape starts at the foot of the Monte Rosa and leads to the villages Romagnano and Gattinara. At 4,554m, the Monte Rosa is the second highest peak in Europe.

Some years ago, some entrepreneurial Belgian Europeans settled in a little village Rossa. They converted an old shoe factory into a beautiful sports hotel: the Foresteria Valsesia. On the banks of the Sermenza, the wilder river feeding into the Sesia further 500m downstream, the hotel is an ideal starting point to discover the rich region.

The hotel owners are great enthusiasts of sport, nature, the culture and the gastronomy… and this is apparent in what is offered. A wide and diverse variety of activities. It varies from flyfishing to having a quiet picnic at 2,500m, a visit to the pilgrim town of Varallo in summer to ice climbing in winter. Like the region, the Forestaeria hotel is a hospitable place to be ! but enough descriptions now : come and experience it for yourself !
